Healthy Journey

I was born in the 90's... the years of Cocoa Puffs, Gushers, and Pizza Pops (or Pockets? lol I digress...) However, as a sugar-filled kid I certainly didn't gain weight very quickly!

Those are cupcakes, yes!


It wasn't until my high school years that my bad eating habits finally caught up with me!


Here I was in 2009:



I know I wasn't huge but at 165 lbs, I definitely was not healthy! I carried my weight in the lower body so it really didn't show (lucky? lol) Anyways! My diet needed a huge makeover and that summer of 2009, I decided that it was time!

There was a point though where I let my exercise get the best of me! I started to obsess with how many calories I burned and before I knew it, I couldn't keep my calorie intake up. The lowest weight I got to was 109 lbs... which for a 5"7 girl was just too thin.

 It took me a whole year to regain 10 lbs and muscle on top of that. It was difficult at first because I wasn't used to carrying around a little extra weight... but I knew it was the healthiest for me! :) 

In 2011, I went vegetarian and vegan. It has been a wonderful transition for me. I've learned how to incorporate healthy fats and delicious new foods into my diet... and never have felt so good before! I'm on my way now to being a Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CHN)... and a Personal Trainer in the near future, I hope!
